The Aventon Factory Team is around for some years now and throughout their existence they always managed to be one of the top teams. This was also the case in last season. Yes, they did not win an individual Red Hook Criterium, but the team won the RHC 2017 Series with Eleonore Saraiva and the RHC Team Championship in both the men’s and women’s category. For 2018, the team managed to keep the core of the squad together. However, Sammi Runnels will not be part of the team, but one rider, Lisa Wörner, is added to the team. Lisa is a former World Champion in rowing and in 2017 she made her debut in fixed gear crit racing representing Fixedgearcrit.com. We briefly talked with Aventon Factory Team manager Sean Burke on the formation of the team and the bike on which the team will ride.

Aventon Factory Team squad:
The women’s team: Eléonore Saraiva (FRA), Esther Walker (USA), and Kym Perfetto (USA), Lisa Worner (NED)
The men’s team: Tristan Uhl (USA) David Santos (USA) Isaac Howe (USA), Olivier Leroy (FRA) and Chris Tolley (USA)
The Aventon Factory Team will be racing the new carbon fiber Aventon Ultro with Irwin tubeless wheels. “The new frame and wheels will be a game-changer.” said Burke. “ The new frame has been under development for a few years now. Each and every detail has been carefully designed, and the fluid dynamics indicate that this frame is super aero. I’m really looking forward to putting the team on Irwin tubeless wheels. A flat completely ends your race in most fixed gear crits, and handling is one of the most important aspects of our races, so the new frame along with the lower tire pressures and flat resistance should give the team an advantage.”
We as Fixedgearcrit.com are very proud and happy to see Lisa Wörner joining a team that has the resources, staff, and dedication to be one of the best teams in 2018 in both the men’s as women’s category.
