The ThunderCrit, a fixed gear crit held in London, is back on the crit calendar for 2017. The event will take place on May 6 with plans to increase the scale of the event. Last year, the race was limited to 100 riders while 130 wanted to compete. Therefore, this year the organisation will plan the 2017 crit with a bigger competition field in mind. Furthermore, the venue of the crit has changed, the upcoming ThunderCrit will be held on the circuit around the Olympic Velodrome.
Organiser Rob Green “Our aim is to make ThunderCrit a highlight of the fixed crit calendar and help establish the UK in the world of Fixed Gear Crits. The UK is a little behind mainland Europe in terms of the development of the sport, we have a lot of racers (especially in London) but there aren’t a great deal of races to go to each year at the moment without getting on a plane and travelling. We’re hoping to change this and inspire others to create similar events, which can happen with the community spirit that is prevalent within the fixed gear community.”
Tickets for the race will go on sale from March 1. The link will be published on our website as soon as the ticket sale is open! The race is added to the Fixedgearcrit calendar.
