Team PoloandBike gets a co-title sponsor for 2018, 53 DNTS. The name of the team will be Team 53DNTS x POLOANDBIKE. Despite that the 2018 the team will only have 4 riders, they have enough potential to surprise the field. Especially with bringing an Olympic long track ice skater into the scene.We briefly spoke with team rider Toms Alsberg to get to know more about the 2018 formation and team goals.

“As we all know fixed gear crits are getting bigger and more professional in many ways, for the last years, we have been riding globally and so we will do during the upcoming season. Our goal are the Red Hook Criterium series and to race in a bunch of fixed gear criterium races all over Europe, like Dijon, La Petite Course and some races in NL Crit Series races. We will have a team of 4 riders, 2 Spaniards and 2 Latvians including me”
Haralds Silovs (@haralds86)- pro speed skater from Latvia, Three times Olympian. World cup medalist and two times European champion. Haralds just gained 4th place in winter Olympic games in PyeongChang. Definitely he’s in his best best shape ever.. and there is no secret that big part of speed skaters training program is on a bike. Haralds is powerful, technical & aggressive cyclist and definitely is ready to work in the front.. so better watch out from this beast!
Gonzalo Andrés (aka Gonchu @gonchu9) – he’s 25 years old Spaniard is a versatille athlete. His biggest achievement was become Spanish u23 road cycling champion 2014. He has brilliant results as well into Criterium scene with victorys like Criterium Gijón 2016, Oñati 2016 and more.. Gonchu is determinate to compete this year at his highest level
Javier Benitez (aka Mister Biker @mister_biker) – a former professional cyclist with more than 20 victories behind him, participant in the World Championship in Cape Town in 1997, three times champion of Valencian Community and currently riding in various disciplines like road, CX and Fixed bikes where he has participated in several races at national level being in podium in several of them. 2018/19 will be his second year in our team riding Red Hook Criterium races where, he was always in the final showing his class and experience on the bike.
Toms Alsbergs (@tomsalsbergs) – age: 31, hometown: Riga, Latvia.
Fixed gear racer without any other cycling background.. Back in the days started racing & dominating every Red Bull Mini Drome race. Huge experience in racing different fixed-gear races all over the world. Now this is second year when Toms is seriously working together with elite cycling coaches in Latvia.. technical riding + fresh watts in his leggs will make this season great again.
