“I will race with the same ambitions as last year, but I decided not to join a team but to look for myself and stay independent in terms of organisation and race schedule. The focus will obviously be on the Red Hook Crits in which I hope to ride in the top-10 and fight for the podium spots. Besides that I will start my season at the NL Crit Series in Rijswijk and of course the National Moutarde Crit is on my calendar too. As I’ve never raced on the road before 2017, there is still a lack of tactical experience and I will keep working on that. ”
“I entered an open field in terms of partnerships and supporters, which allows me to work with brands I really admire. I have started studying architecture in Zurich last fall and it will be a new challenge to be successful in both areas. This is also why I do not want to definitely include many races in my schedule and focus on the most important ones. My background as a rider for Scott-Sram makes for deep roots in the Swiss mountain-biking scene: I will continue to encourage these athletes to compete in fixed gear racing; my brother and some friends already tried it and will come again. And there might be an appearance of a big guy this year!”
Cool fact, Robin will ride a titanium bike. Rumours go that more riders will ride on this high-end material.
