Red Hook Criterium Milano No.8 is in the books. In the next weeks we will look back on it through the lens of some amazing photographers. They will show us a recap of the race, or maybe just a small part of it. The photographers have total artistic discretion and show us the race through their eyes. This time it is Dutch photographer Lian van Leeuwen who brings us ‘Charged’ at Red Hook Criterium Milano No.8

“I love watching and shooting the race itself, but am even more interested in the energy and atmosphere surrounding races like this. You get to witness emotions in their purest form: anticipation, extreme focus, nerves, happiness, anger, disappointment, ecstatic joy; it’s electrifying. Milan is special in that sense. The energy of the crowd is almost tangible, Italiantifosi are one of a kind. So loud, so present. It must be wild to enter that final stretch to the finish as a rider. Translating that vibe into images is very rewarding.”
