This upcoming weekend it will be the 5th edition of the fixed gear crit race at the ‘Ronde van Katendrecht’ and for the 3rd time it will be part of the NL Crits Series (Vast Verzet Bokaal before). Last year it was Paolo Bravini who took the win before David van Eerd and Marius Petrache. The Katendrecht crit is the biggest race in the NL Crits Series and there will be extra points and prize money for the riders. We spoke briefly with one of the organisers of the NL Crits Series, Jan-Willem Blok on what we can expect for this year’s edition.
Regarding changes to this year Jan-Willen replies “The good thing is that we partly return to the Saturday program(after having both our races on Friday last year). The Men’s A race is the main event on Saturday which is pretty cool. On Friday we’re doing a new thing, an exhibition Keirin race. Just some heats and a final, just for fun. There are some spots left, registration is for free and can be done by sending an email to [email protected] or drop us a message on Facebook or Instagram. Latest news is the course has changed this year. It will be 1350m instead of 1600m. Fewer corners, so less technical this year. It could be a fast race!”
