Keira McVitty will give her road career priority over the fixed gear crits for the upcoming season. She announced this today in the interview we had with her. Keira, who got 4th in the 2016 RHC GC, will participate in some fixed gear crits but only if her busy road schedule allows it. The reason for her decision is that her road team, WNT, received a UCI status meaning that Keira will be competing on the highest level in women road cycling in the upcoming season. Keira sees herself as both a road racer and a fixed gear crit rider, she hopes to keep combining both in the future. However, for now she feels that the chance of racing on the highest level on the road is one she should take and must make that her first priority for 2017.
More on Keira, and how she will manage both her road as well as her fixed gear career in the interview, to be published soon!
