Fixed Gear Crit

First transfer for the ’18 season: Davíd van Eerd signs with Team WIT

The 2017 fixed gear crit season is barely done or the transfers for the 2018 season are already starting. A couple of days ago we published the news that Dutch rider Davíd van Eerd will not be part of the 8bar team in 2018 and that he was close with signing for team WIT. Today, we can confirm that van Eerd will defend the jersey of Team WIT for next year. We briefly had contact with the Director Sportif of the team, Jan-Willem Blok:

“We are super stoked to have a Red Hook Crit winner on board for our 2018 campaign. Besides being a world class fixed gear rider, the person Davíd totally fits our team. Back in 2015 we started our team to give talented Dutch riders the opportunity and support to become better riders. On the long term our goal was (and is) to compete for the Red Hook Crit Championships, both individual and team. With signing Davíd van Eerd we believe we can make a big step towards reaching this goal.”

Davíd also released a statement:
“Having a Dutch team that’s competitive in Red Hook Crit will contribute in expanding fixed gear racing in The Netherlands.”
