Ainara Elbusto back in a fixed gear crit and crushes competition in 7th edition of Criterium Gijon. Costales wins men’s race

Last weekend the 7th edition of the Criterium Gijon was held in Gijon, Asturias, Spain. In the women’s field it was Ainara Elbusto who, after not being active in fixed gear crits for a while, blew away the competition by lapping the whole field making her the only one on the podium in the women’s race. In the men’s race there was a break-away by Enol Costales, and Gonzalo Andrés. In the sprint-a-deux it looked like Gonzalo was going to take the victory but an early celebration by him an a final jump by Enol turned things around and it was Enol Costales who went home with the win. The podium was complemented by Arturo Ardura.
